Artist's Description

I've been wanting to paint a scene that puts together different aspects of the winter we spent in Oregon. Part of this painting is our cottage in Lake Oswego while background is of Mount Hood. The winters in Oregon are supposed to be mild with very little snow but the year we were there was a 40 year high in snow totals. The kids were able too make a snowman with ease. This will make a good holiday card.

About Ian Donley

Ian Donley

I grew up in Ventura, California where I spent most of my time at the beach. I was a lifeguard for 13 years on the beaches of Ventura and Carpinteria. I've always been attracted to the water and the beauty of nature. I've been an amateur photographer for many years. A few years ago, I moved to the Portland, Oregon area with my wife and kids and it was there that I was inspired to begin painting. Currently we live in the Ventura area and I continue to paint.
