We were staying in Cambria and had just reached our hotel. I decided to go across the to see the sunset and found this beautiful group of trees with the sun peaking through. Later I created a painting using this image as a reference slightly cropped.
About Ian Donley
I grew up in Ventura, California where I spent most of my time at the beach. I was a lifeguard for 13 years on the beaches of Ventura and Carpinteria. I've always been attracted to the water and the beauty of nature. I've been an amateur photographer for many years. A few years ago, I moved to the Portland, Oregon area with my wife and kids and it was there that I was inspired to begin painting. Currently we live in the Ventura area and I continue to paint.
